I've been watching this little guy grow since April, and now he's almost ready for harvest! Can't wait to try my hand at canning these.

I believe there is a necessity for us to be connected to our food.  It makes us aware of seasons and life cycles. It reminds us that vital functions on earth are unplugged.  It gives us a unique way to express creativity and build community.  The recipes and thoughts shared here are not from a culinary genius, master gardener, or a well-educated scholar, but rather an ordinary girl who happened to grow up with grape tomatoes instead of grass in her yard.

Today, I ate too much food and enjoyed being flabbergasted at the value of cast iron cookware all in the name of “work.” #happyfriday

The perfect use for start-of-the-season strawberries that may have been ignored for a day too long. Oh, did I mention they also have ground fennel seeds mixed in? (Link to your breakfast dreams in profile) #sconezone #strawberries #f52grams #breakfast #pepperplacemarket
I’ve spent most of my waking hours over the last 7 weeks ideating, tasing, and editing recipes but I haven’t been developing them. While I’m thoroughly enjoying my job, I’ve missed getting my hands dirty with spices and fresh food. I also really miss my farmer friends, but I’m starting to chip away at making new ones. This chicken was raised by Rora Valley Farms and was purchased from my new favorite four year-old. Thanks to Bella for opening the freezer case and walking me through all the cuts and size chickens they were selling. #roastedchicken #f52grams #thecookfeed #pepperplacemarket
It’s like passion fruit knew it was going to be 2018’s Color of the Year so it put it’s best face on. #drooling #coloroftheyear #pantone #dspurple #passionfruit #f52farmstand #hillcrestfarmersmarket #jacysfarm
